Has your Toyota Sienna warranty expired, or will it expire soon? Or did you recently buy a used Toyota Sienna? If yes, you may want to replace your expired (or expiring) warranty with a vehicle protection plan or extended warranty!

The Sienna is a top-ranked minivan with great reviews from consumers and experts alike. Plus, it is a Toyota, so we can only assume that it is a quality vehicle that will be reliable and last a long time. Sadly, even Toyotas can have problems, and your Sienna is prone to breakdowns just like any other vehicle. You probably need a little more information to convince you that you need to replace your expired (or expiring) Toyota Sienna warranty. Well, keep reading to get just a small sample of the types of complaints Sienna drivers have shared at www.consumeraffairs.com:

I purchased my Toyota Sienna 2013 XLE new. After 3 1/2 years and 39,000 miles, I have had to replace a full set of run flat tires 4 times, brake pads and now have been informed that I need to replace the shocks and struts and the tires again (since they are wearing unevenly due to the first issue). To top that all off, the cable to the automatic door just broke and that’s a $2000 fix (and it has to be done by the dealership). I am extremely dissatisfied with how expensive it has been to maintain this vehicle. All after the 3 year / 36,000 warranty coverage.

My wife and I bought a 2011 Toyota Sienna with about 70,000 miles on it. We have had it 3 years and now has 90,000 miles on it. Been a great van until yesterday when the transmission went out without any warning. We went with Toyota because of the issues with the Honda Odyssey. We will not be buying another one.

2011 Sienna XLE – Purchased new in 2011. We have been very disappointed with the quality of material and workmanship. While we have not had any major powertrain problems, there have been so many minor failures and defects that collectively make Toyota a non-option for us in the future.

The above comments from Sienna owners should show you that the Sienna is far from perfect, and that you can expect to experience mechanical difficulties and breakdowns at some point during your ownership of the Sienna.
